Just curious, I thought about all the different beers I like, and the majority are Lagers.

Cheers,

On any given day, if I have access to a variety, I can be found drinking almost anything. Usual stock, at home, is Sleeman's Cream Ale. Just as likely to be some Hoegaarden; Walkerville, a local amber lager; one or more IPA's, as well.

I voted for Pale Ale, but a close second would be Bitter: it's just sooooo hard to choose!!

I'l have one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer...and another beer, and another beer, and another beer, and another beer... :thmbsp:

I used to brew my own beer, and I've found very few mass-produced American beers that I like. Lots of great micro-brews, though!

As far as one to choose as my favorite, it really depends on the mood, the season, the food.

I tend to agree that Pilsner Urquell is probably the best example of a single type in the world. Rich, tasty, but not too bitter or overbearing. Terrific imaging and soundstage...oops! Sorry!

When I'm enjoying a cigar, it'll be something like a nice porter or bock.

I have wide-ranging tastes!

I used to drink a brand of beer I enjoyed very much. If I remember correctly it was called "Lots".

I think that has something to do with the fact that I dont drink anymore :D

A lot might knock Bud, but let me set the record (according to Russ) straight.

The MOST 'refreshing' beer I've EVER had, I **** you not - happened one Saturday afternoon last summer, after mowing the lawn. I'm usually not one for putting ANYTHING in a beer, lemon, lime, or otherwise (short of a depth charge - and dropping a shot of whiskey, shotglass and all straight in).

I came in from mowing the north 40, Brandy and one of her friends were drinking Corona (gag) with lime. I figured the citrus might be refreshing, but the lime was GONE. Spotted an orange on the counter, said 'what the faak'. THICK slice, ie a whole segment, rind and all - squeezed and dropped into a 20oz Pilsner glass, then pour an ICE COLD Bud right down the middle. Don't 'tilt' the glass, RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE - get the carbonation out.

You want to talk about refreshed? It floored me. Amazing.

Cheers,
Russ

Lager are good, but I find I usually drink a Pils. Reminds me of my days in germany....... Lots of Pils down this gullet. Pilsner Urquell is mighty tasty indeed.

Though there are days where only a microbrewed rootbeer hits the spot. And I have no idea why I love Coors Light, but I do :dunno:

Well, I'm a big fan of the real ales that we get alot over here in the UK, but sometimes on a summer's day a cold lager goes down very well!! :beerchug:

One thing that has amused me recently - a small brewery called Wychwood here in the UK has started up a marketing campaign for its Hobgoblin ale (which is fab! :thmbsp: ) using the tag line -

"What's the matter Lagerboy, afraid you might taste something??"

Any beer that's made with hops, barley and water. I hate the stuff that uses corn as a substitute :thumbsdn: It gives me gas.

Currently in my fridge is Heineken.
