I am starting to make a dent in the pile; first a CR-840 and three CR-1040s, next an A-960 II with a CR-620 and the two CR-800s that just sold and a Pioneer PL88FS needing a new stylus. Netxt in line the back of a Pioneer PL05, a Yamaha CD-x5 and CD-x1, another CR-620, Denon DPD-1500 needing a new laser, two more CR-820s and my shop YP-B4. Then comes an R-1000 and two CR-1020s.

Wait, we are not finished yet; A Pecan veneered case for the CR-820 on my bench, a CR-2020 and CR-1000 on the floor, the 820 for the case, a Fisher 400 and the backside of a CA-800 that will need it's case veneered.

Hi Merrylander!
My doctor told me that a CA-800 would be a wonderful therapy item for me to heal faster. HEHE!

Don't work to hard ML,

Got a sick CA-1000 sitting in the closet -- just watching the queue & and waiting for the Doctor to re-open for business...

(Take it easy, Rob!)

Rob,

Just let me know when either the 1020 or 2020 are ready. I would have a hard time to make up my mind, or we could PM about it.

This is good news. It should mean that you have made progress on the granddaughter's doll house (maybe a Christmas present) and your wife is feeling better. Glad to hear things are moving...out, making room for you to get around the workshop. Happy New Year, Rob.

Hi Rob! I have that same Heath FM signal generator! I'm not entirely sure mine is working correctly, though. I've got to get into it a bit. Do you find it adequate for FM alignments? As I'm taking electronics courses at the local college, RF circuits is coming up soon, and I'd like to have my own test equipment ready so I can practice at home!

Thanks for your thoughts.

Rob,

I drool every time I see one of your pieces listed. One day I will have to make one of your fine pieces mine.

Have a great New Year!

Accumulation and Distribution:) On Wall Street, major brokerages accumulate stock at panic lows and distribute to the frenzied public toward market highs, then drop prices causing panic and accumulte once again at bargain prices.....its just a matter of inventory.

Rob's basement is akin to the island of misfit toys. It is the bastion of vintage Yamahas protected from becoming doorstops.

Keeping these beauties out of the landfill and continuing to make beautiful music is an admirable thing.

Nanner time!

I was unhappy with the color of the CR-820 case I am veneering, or rather have veneered, it was too reddish. So I stripped it and re-stained it, the color is closest to the last picture, trying to get true color rendition under cool white effervescent lighting and camera flash is a PITA. The color really does match the Pecan end plates of a Baby Advent and they are also Pecan.

Pecan is a bear to work with in veneer, it splits if you look at it sideways and is hard as nails, problem is I have a lot of it left. I am happier with the color now and it fits my policy which is simply that if I would not put a unit in one of our systems it does not go out the door.

Man those are sweet! Love that Pecan! Going to sell off some stuff and would probably be interested in either a 1020 or a 2020. Pm me when possible. Keep those beauties safe and out of the landfills.

The case alone looks so beautiful. Together, with the freshly polished silver face, I know it is a going be incredible. Anyone looking at the pictures can tell it is a labour of love for sure.
