Belle ou RF7 lll

Hello Steve

I have a pair of RF7 llls driven by 2 1984 Jadis (french) tube blocks with a Lightspeed Attenuator preamp all working wonderfully.
But I just fell in love with a pair of Belle in Italy, I live in France and I'm going to drive 1500 km to look for them.
You who have both can tell me more about the difference in sound between the RF7 and Belle.

Thank you for your feedback

I'm not terribly familiar with the RF7 (don't think I've ever heard a pair). My understanding of them is they will (do) pack quite a punch in the lower end. I'd wonder if they will be more impactful than the Belle's might be.....however....with the Belle having a horn bottom end, whatever it produces should be far more accurate & articulate than the DR drivers on the RF.

I'm going to also presume the Belle has a larger midrange horn (but am not sure of that).

I think they're both going to punch you in the chest.... just in slightly different ways. RF7, raw, brutal frontal assault.... and the Belle with more finesse (but might not play as deep)

That's my 2 cents!

My son has a pair of RF 7's and I can tell you I prefer the smoothness of the earlier Belles. The bass is shy, but that applies to both speakers. For Stereo system I prefer Cornwalls, for a large long room two corner horns with a Belle in the center. The dynamics of a Belle are much better than a RF 7 to me. So if you are into dynamics and a more personal sound, where it seems you are closer to the performance, the Belles. In a small room you might like your RF-7's. I would still prefer the Belles. An issue for me that concerns both speakers is the horns are to close to the floor. In that respect give me a pair of Cornerhorns.
