Late tube or early solid state? I bet the answer is in the Fisher forum. I would guess solid-state.

The lettering and red pushbuttons on the Ambassador electronics resemble my TFM-300 tuner which is early solid state.

FISHER used that style tuner face for 1965-1966 for the Ambassador and Futura Models. This is a 1965 Ambassador. In 1966 the faceplate was slightly changed in that the location of the push buttons and the rotary switches/pots was reversed, when FISHER changed from a tube tuner with separate amp to a Solid state all in one receiver chassis. This was the 31-R chassis for 1966.
