Beogram 8002 Turntable fork in the road...

Really torn with what to do with a decent looking, but not fully functional B&O Beogram 8002. No cartridge and having an issue with the tone arm dropping (when it had a cartridge). Overall in good condition. Leaning toward parting it out to throw a lifeline to other owners, but also thinking it could be a great restoration project...

Anyway, in the interest in keeping this brand available to those who may have a strong interest, what might the interest level be in this?

About 150 Euros in Europe, if in good cosmetical condition, around 400 in good cosmetical and technical condition with a good cartridge.

However, the 80s B&O turntables had been far away from the quality of the 60s and 70s turntables.

Considering the purchase price of a cartridge for it, I'd probably part it out (actually I'd probably sell it as-is; I don't have the time or patience for parting out).

That's where I'm leaning...part it out...and try to make a few people's experience with these a little better. Also, much easier to ship!

I faced the same issue recently with one with a defective cartridge. Finally sold it "as is" due to the crazy cost of the cartridge. Great design but not restoration friendly. Sat for six months before I gave up.

That's where I'm leaning...it's a great project with plenty of upside...I think parting it out might yield a couple of wins (for me and a buyer), but could wind up as a tough slog...
