Best 2way Speakers you have owned

My current 2-ways designed and built by me with a custom crossover designed by the late Jeff Bagby. I believe my design was used by Jeff as the predecessor for his Spirit Wind speaker kit that was marketed by Meniscus. They consist of an Audio Technology mid woofer and Scanspeak Revelator tweeter. Cabinet is built with 3/4" Baltic birch plywood, 3/4" HDF/3/4" Baltic birch sandwich front baffle, veneered in walnut. Jeff did a superb job on the crossover. These will be my last pair of speakers.

Probably the Klipsch RP-160M speakers, which I modified with Jantzen Superior-Z 3.9uf for the treble and Audience Auricap 43uf for the woofer - that Auricap is huge, but it fits with a little finagling. The second photo shows how big it actually is compared to the original!

Incredible and wonderful music is now the norm with these RP-160M’s! What a difference! It’s now in my second set-up in my garage and with my 20 watt Jolida tube amp I’m in heaven.

Nothing too high end around here but I sure can't complain about the recapped Dynaco A-25XL's I'm listening to at the moment. They sure beat the three way Steintrons I listened to for years.
 
I've owned a few pretty tasty two-ways over the years. Special mention to the ProAc 1SC clone, Lenehan Audio ML1, Focus Audio FS68, and JPW Ruby 2. The current king of the hill at Casa Del Mac is the Legacy Audio Studio HD. The 8" woofer and AMT tweeter sing so sweetly and offer incredble scale for such relatively compact speakers.

Would be my Sonus Faber Electa's. Bought these back in the 90's when Franco Serblin Ran the company. I still own them but haven't used them in some time due to playing with other speakers.
Beautiful sounding/ looking speakers with zero fatigue.
 
Really good ones I have listened to, but not owned. At the top is the Tannoy Mallorcan. 12 inch Monitor gold dual concentric. Never had a chance to listen to 15 inch Tannoy systems, but imagine they are even better.
Next is the KEF 104ab.
I do own Tannoy CMS-8 ceiling speakers, remounted in regular cabinets, and they are very nice. (8 inch dual concentric, same as in the Tannoy 800 monitors)
I would love to seriously listen big Altecs, but have only heard them incidentally. 19's, VOTT, Valencias. Big Stonehenge III (604-8G system)
 
Though obviously outclassed by the 19s, the Altec Valencia is a very nice speaker, and they are much more affordable and domestically acceptable than the 19.

I would love to hear some 19’s someday, but because of style/size/price, and the YouTube channel of Tom (above) and friend, I have recently purchased the Valencia’s.

Having never heard any of the vintage Altec offerings, it was a leap of faith. For about the last 5 years, I have listened exclusively to several variations of open baffle speakers, and love the sound.

But…I am soooo glad I got the Valencia’s. They are the most live, real and natural speakers I’ve yet listened to.

I recently scored a pair of EV Interface 2's, and they are fantastic for 70's rock. Sounds like a time machine to my childhood. Probably the best speakers I've ever owned in the dirt cheap category.
