Best crossover replacement for Lascalas

I am going to replace the crossover networks on my 1984 AL crossover Klipsch Lascalas.
I have gone through the old threads and they (for the most part) have left me a little dizzy. Currently, neither one of the K 77 tweeters are working at all. So, before I replace the tweeters I think that replacing the crossovers would be the best place to start. I'm really looking for the CURRENT best solution for my problem. First off, Love those Pioneers. I have the 1280!
ALK makes a fantastic cross over for those LaScala's. I had him make me 2 sets, 1 "UNIVERSAL" for my 84 Corns & The "EXTREEM SLOPE" for my LaScala 2s.

Michael Crites at B & K Sound. They have some new and improved mid drivers too. Just talked to him the other day.

Before you spring for new crossovers or tweeters, I suggest you check the connections at your existing crossovers. These are dead simple, clearly marked screw down terminals. They can work loose and/or get a touch of corrosion. Possibly that could be the problem.

Yeppers ...

.that was the first thing that I tried. I took them all off, cleaned all the contacts and re assembled them. Still got nothing through either tweeter ...

Should be able to disconnect from the x-over and ohm them out with a multimeter, an OL reading would be bad (possibly a bad diaphram?). I'd recommend replacing the diaphrams and re-capping the x-overs with DaytonAudio caps (cheap and easy).
 
Yea, you probably have bad tweeters and there isn’t a good diaphragm replacement for them. Either buy some new tweeters from crites, some Mahl from DaveA or find some used k77. The general consensus is the AL is an overly complicated and not a great sounding crossover. I replaced a set of overly complicated AB in some Belles with Alk super AA and it was a noticeable improvement.

I got the best sound by bi-amping La Scalas. But then we used split La Scala with MWM-s as sub woofer for a tri-amped system.
 
Look up the specs on a EV T-35 tweeter if an early La Scala. They only show an old spec sheet stating 7 ohms above 3500 HZ.

I ran this through an active so by pushing various buttons, I could have the MWM bass bin with the two EV's on the side, or with the LaScala (internal passive took care of LaScala), or the 402 on top.

Was fun playing around and hearing the different presentations.

That LaScala looks positively tiny.
