Best headphones for excercise? Weightlifting

I am looking for some cheaper audiophile quality headphones for this purpose:thmbsp:
$20-70? probably price range.. I do not want bulky headphones or anything that falls off my ears easy
Cheaper the better, I lost the earbud on one my JVC headphones :(
Cardio must be possible when wearing headphones

Define "cheaper" :p

HiFiMan RE 400's or Shure SE215 are supposed to be very good, and run about a hundred bucks.
 
My girlfriend really likes her Sennheiser Adidas CX685 earbuds that I got her for christmas. They're about $60-$70.
 
I agree. I'd go for ear buds.

I use a set of Philips SHQ3000s. I don't know if I'd call them 'audiophile quality' but I regularly listen with AKG Q701s and A-T ATH-M50s and I don't hate the Philips set.

I know a lot of folks hate the around the ear thing. Different ears... different attitudes... they work for me and sound perfectly decent.
 
Sure you want to be distracted while jerkin' iron? I can see it with lighter stuff like an exercise bike or jogging, but I want to be giving my full attention to things that can rip me up if I'm not paying attention ...

Edit . Good headphones motivate me to lift, and not just give up when doing workouts.
I am trying to get back into lifting.

I use the Sennheiser PMX 680i and they are fantastic. I like the wrap-around headband better than earbuds. They clamp in nicely and are not fatiguing. The band loops under your scull, so they don't get in the way when on the bench. Can be had for about $45-$50 online.
 
Dang ... I missed the original post ...

I find music to be a double edged sword when exercising. I find myself trying to keep time to the music. Playing a local FM station on the headphones while doing laps around the bedroom on my Schwinn Airdyne the other day ... they started playing Ted Nugent Stranglehold and I darn near died ... <G>

How good are Polk headphones??? POlk vs Sennheiser
I wanted to buy something locally at a store but bestbuy sells garbage probably.If my headphones cannot hit Bass notes well I will hate them:thmbsp:

I have three sets of the Sennheiser CX200 buds:

They are inexpensive enough to lose, are snug, sound better than decent, and mine have gone through the wash in my gym shorts multiple times and they still work perfectly.

I run on the treadmill, bike, and lift massive amounts of weight. I also rack my weights when finished and spray/wipe the bench and mats when I finish my reps. If you are one of those cats who leaves stray barbells and does not wipe your bench, I sugggest sticking forks in your evil ears.
 
I personally wouldn't limit myself to only what I could buy locally. Food for thought, if you knew what you wanted and ordered them when you started this thread, you'd have used them yesterday and today.

Tough choice do you think Bestbuy sells anything of good cheap quality??There Home audio speakers are Garbage, How Can I trust there Headphones?
SHould I order off amazon then or what:grumpy::grumpy:

Perhaps I should try those cheap $19 ones on amazon
 
I use the Philips SHQ4200/10 sports headband. I had the older model for a couple of years previously and I sat on them an broke them. These have good bass although I would say the quality is ok, not the worlds best but I found good enough for me when running and they are washable from sweat.

What will you playing off of, the Philips have a inline remote and mic for an idevice. I think they are good for exercise as they grip very well and don't shift at all for me.
