Best Looking Topless Photos Requested

Did that title grab your attention?

This thread is not about posting all kinds of topless amp photos ad nauseam: It is much more simple than that: I would like you tell us your opinion about the best looking solid state receiver with the top off, and then post a photo of it (you don't need to own your chosen favorite to post, just find a photo of it).

EDIT: If the poster has not identified his chosen receiver, what is the brand and model?

So, pretty simple: We are not talking about best looking face plate, most power, most valuable or expensive, best sonics, etc. - simply topless looks. At some point, I may make a poll with this thread, if the votes concentrate around less than a dozen or so brands/models.

Now that I have spelled out the ground rules, I'll start:

What can be used to make the face of my pioneer SX-1050 shine like yours? Awsome pic

  • Take faceplate off
  • Clean with sudsy water
  • Polish with clear coat wax
  • Ditto with buttons, switches and knobs
  • ......and add plenty of sunshine:thmbsp:
Thanks!

All the best,

Now what EW has posted without labeling his chosen receiver just like I did it, we'll add another dimension to the thread:

If the poster has not identified his chosen receiver, what is the brand and model?

Pioneer integrated amp!

Echowars posted a pic of a Pioneer integrated amp not a receiver. I say SA-9900

Of course we all know this one.

Njord Noatun and I are pretty darn close to a tie for a clean 1250. :thmbsp:

I had the black-faced SX-5590. Nudes are phenomenal. The big Pioneer is something special.
I wish I had nudes of my Concept 16.5.

Your pics have an almost Hi-def quality to them. Very nice.
Nice topless unit too!
Thanks for the compliments! Long-winded explanation, Matt - but it has nothing to do with my camera - I have alway been using a consumer-level, point and shoots - the SX-1250's were taken with a sub-$200 Canon Powershot 530. For the nudies as per above, I just put the unit out in the sun and shoot! Don't even think I used a tripod. More important than the camera itself is proper post-processing, to resize and compress the photos to a size suitable for web use (I use Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop CS) with a minimum of quality loss.

For ambience shots such as this one, I time the shots just after sunset (to get a better effect of the lit dial) and use a halogen (much whiter than traditional incandescent lights) adjustable desk lamp such as this one to emphasize desired areas, e.g. cabinet or controls. For such ambience photos, a tripod is a must, and flash must be turned off. Take a bunch of photos over time - as it gets darker, the early photos will have too much ambient lighting to see the dial in all its glory, and the late photos will have too little light: Don't rush it - somewhere in the middle will be just right!

Here are some more ambience ones:

A
B
C

I haven't figured out how to accomplish this at my house yet, but some use a glass surface do display the unit on: AK Member Barrynsue does this, and the results are spectacular.

All the best,

Looking good, Njord. You may be limited by your hosting, but would it be possible to get a full-res of 'shot A' with no resizing?
