Best Place(s) to Find Audio Gear for Free in San Diego?

I've been bitten by the speaker bug... again. I thought not being homeschooled anymore would cure the bite, but no. I just want to know... does anyone here who lives/lived in/near San Diego know the best places to find free audio gear?

Any junk yards to visit? Any good dumpsters for dumpster diving? Any good neighborhoods for finding speakers in the trash or on the curb? Does anyone have any tips for dumpster diving or for going to junk yards?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You'll need a good snorkel for dumpster diving. And thick body armor to avoid used needles.

Watch the free section in Craigslist. You'll find that there are always some plastic mini junk up there, which might get you through, or you might find some gems if you are patient.

The body armor is more useful for protection from the well-established local flippers than it is for blocking needles, though you will only have to worry about that on the good stuff - don't think they bother with BPC or white van speakers.
