Hello - I am looking for some advisement concerning bi-amping my setup. I have all of my sources going to a Bryston 0.4B preamp which goes to a Bryston 2B amp. Speakers are B&W DM 630 model which are bi-amp capable (there are two pairs of pos/neg posts per side). If it matters, all of this equipment is from the mid 1990s. Generally, I am happy with the sound out of this setup.
When looking for an amplifier to pair with the Bryston 2B for bi-amping, what should I be looking for?
Do I look for something with similar power to the 2B? Something with more power that might drive the low-end better?
Am I looking for an amp from the same Bryston family as the 2B or (bigger brother) even just another identical 2B? My thinking is that both amps should have the same sound characteristics. In practice should I be looking for that?
Any advisement on what to look for here would be appreciated. I am not dissatisfied with my current setup, just got the bug to try something to make it sound better.
