BIC EV15s - Recommended EQ??

Recently picked up a Crown amp to try and wake up my pair of BIC EV 15s. Mission accomplished!

However, to get to the level of volume I need to get the woofers thumping I'm running for cover from the piercing horn tweeters.

I'm running the Crown from a Yamaha TSR 700 (100 wpc) as pre-out. Any other BIC and Yamaha owners out there have success taming their horns with EQ? My TSR 700 has individual speaker EQ adjustments as well as tone control ("treble" and "bass" both +/- dB adjustable). I admit I'm new to horns so maybe this is a losing game. Thoughts from the forum?

In case anyone runs into this and has similar concern, I've since added a basic tone control (Schiit Loki) to try and tame the treble. That has helped, but I'm still not really satisfied. I'm happy with these speakers for home theater use, but for near field 2 channel stereo I'm not at all impressed. Still hoping someone out there may have some advice on how to get these sounding good as they have potential!
