Bic RTR EV15

I was kinda disappointed when I saw the gauge of wire they used, but that's an easy fix. I think I'm going to upgrade that.
I forgot to get a pic of the crossover, when I pull apart again to change the wires I'll snap a pic of the crossover.

Been beating on a pair with a Carver M-1.0t for over a year now. Handling it well and sound surprizingly good for $379 a pair! bob

I've been lurking for years but I signed up just to post this. RTR 1530s are great for budget setups. I currently have two sets in my living room driven by a Kenwood M2A @ 4 ohms. OH. MY. GOD!!!! I got the two sets on craigslist/facebook.

The M2A has ALWAYS made speakers sound their best, but having four 15" woofers makes the bass almost indescribably good, so precise yet powerful. I started with one set and decided the M2A could run another so why not? :)

They need decent power to sound really good, don't slap them on a 60w per channel and expect magic.....it'll still sound good though ;)

Kind of funny (I know this is way late to the party), but I'm currently driving mine as the front channel with a Denon receiver... with 70WPC in 5.1 mode. They sound great. Don't even need a subwoofer.

Picked up a pair of these about 6 months ago - just thought I would add my input as well. I paid about $200 each for them, and for that price I am certainly not disappointed. I bought them mostly as speakers I could "beat on" so I dont blow up my quality older vintage stuff... and the power handling spec got my attention for sure... 225W rms / 450W peak.
I would describe them as having "no personality" not in a bad way, but just very plain sounding. They certainly have tons of treble, and lots of bass - depending on the type of music. The bass is not exactly what I prefer as far as being "tight" but there is tons of it there - no need at all for a sub with these guys. You can tell the enclosure is not thick enough and they remind me a little bit of boxy old Fishers I have. I prefer a non ported enclosure for the bass characteristics, but still not bad overall.
For some reason or another - after beating on them for months, about 2 weeks ago both horns and both mids stopped functioning all exactly at the same time. I figured I was out of luck as far as warranty goes - but much to my suprise - I called BIC - an american worker answered the phone right away, emailed a warranty parts claim form, and a few days later they shipped me 4 replacement drivers! I am back up and running again and will not push them as hard in the future.

I am also debating on adding some additional insulation to them. I was dissapointed to see how different each one was manufactured when I took them apart. One had about twice as much insulation material as the other, and I think they could both stand to use some more. I'm thinking that might tighten up the bass a little bit and get rid of the "hollow" sound.
