BIC Venturi Formula 6

Any idea on value for a one owner pair of BIC Venturi Formula 6 speakers?

I "think" these are Spec I. They have the piezos.

Original grilles disintegrated so the owner built new grilles that are kind of neat and fully functional. Have cloth and emblems etc.

Cabinets and everything are in excellent condition.

The prices I've seen are all over the place from $50 - $375.

You don't seem them too often but the last pair I saw around here a few months ago, sold for $35. I called the guy but was a few minutes too late, which is a good thing, probably. I can't see paying a ton of money for them. Certainly not over $100. They are not terrible speakers, actually sound pretty good if you into the party, Cerwin Vega, type sound, and they do go plenty loud. The original grills are always gone or just partially there.

Yea but given the condition of these and the neat grilles I don't think $150 would be out of line personally.

Guess I can only try.

There are worth what you think they are.

They have a few fans from what I've been told but I haven't heard, or seen except for above, a set for a long time. Are you sure those are piezos? The ones in my first gen Formula 1's were not. Some type of regular driver hooked up to a horn. I blew a few of them, which should not be possible on regular piezos, I would think. Course that was nearly 40 years ago. I was never a fan of the piezo sound but again, that's me.

Your right, they do. But they are not. Which is a good thing.

Mine mostly blew because I was running them on a smaller receiver that had "issues". But when your a kid, you don't always do the smartest things. I finally upgraded to a JVC JRS201 and never had a problem with them again.

We had installed several pair in the local cowboy disco, and eventually kept spare tweeters in stock for them.

BIC suffer a love/hate reputation.

I've had many models and they always impress me when I rotate them in to play.

The 6s used to flip around here near $400 IIRC. Haven't seen any in about 6-7 years.

There were two Model 6's. You are describing the earlier, more desirable version. The OP is describing the twin piezo nightmare.

Edit: I see I responded to a necro thread, but I'll leave my post as I think it is an important clarification. I wonder what, if anything, the OP got for those.

Yes, they’re the two piezo version. Is that the later version?

BTW, $500 is about $450 more than those are actually worth. Man, you can buy a lot of nice speakers for $500 a pair.
