Big, Bad and Likely Dead Sui BA-5000

Spotted one on eBay. From the look of it, it seems to be dropped from the back of the ups / fedex truck.

Seller seems to be the kind who buys and resells freight claims items.

It looks bad, but hope not dead yet. Even if it's dead, i know it can be resurrected. We have EW on AK who gave second life to the beat up like this.

That`s a very good price even if you had to put $500 or so into it.

Seller says it's working. Other than the binding posts, most of the damage seems to be cosmetic.

I am skeptical about working condition. Seller says it's working probably meant he turned it on and the red light in the front. (old sansui thinks like the traffic lights, Green means go and Red means stop). It may never change from Red to Green so he thought it's working.

But the binding posts are already broken (ground / negative tabs) so it's really hard for him to actually hook it up to test. I don't know if he got someone holding the speaker wire to the binding post though.

Anyway, putting $500 or more into this amp isn't bad at all. But I doubt the price will not increase considerably at the last second.

We will see.
