Big Bucks JBL

Gonna be hard for the buyer to claim "Significantly Not As Described" on this one!

My guess would be all those pics were taken during restoration - at least I hope so. Can you imagine the time involved to disassemble to that level just for pictures? I would be terrified of breaking something during the process!

In a perfect world, any speaker at that price point would come with that level of documentation (photo). It certainly clears up any question of "what driver set" with that JBL..

great post, thanks

winning bidder backed out of original listing as they are for sale again.

I fail to see how the seller could provide any more information yet, somehow, the winning bidder did not complete the sale.

Brutal, why do people bother to do that? Maybe they bailed when they saw the shipping charges; the shipping quote in the Q&A section was $1365 to Germany

Is there any value added by not taking them apart and claiming them to be pristine and untouched by human hands?
Verified by pics inside and out.

"New white Lansaloy surrounds" ... what?

No kidding.
I remember researching the Lansaloys and read about some guy who found white "lansaloy" surrounds selling on the 'bay" a few years back, of course they weren't factory.
Also I read that JBL still had oem Lansaloys as late as the early '90s, although now I can't seem to locate that thread-site.

Ya, quite beautiful, great photography.

Yeah, I think that tie dye background has to do with the high winning bid, and also responsible for winner backing out. :D They were either stored in over-sized food saver pouch or the seller used a ton of Qtips.

Not so fast, gotta read the fine print: New white lans-a-loy style foam edge surrounds". Think he's just found white foam somewhere, maybe... Wish I could find some.

Gah! I'm usually the one nit-picking on poor reading skills.

Still...new white surrounds. Where in the heck did those come from?

That's the cleanest pair of Sovereign's I've ever seen - inside and out.

You should see mine:)

Brown speaker/baby blue tie-dye not good:thumbsdn:

There's a guy on the bay with white ones.
Damn, you're right. I used to look once in a while, but never saw any, so well, just stopped looking.

Pricey, tho -- $40.00 for a pair for LE-10, plus $16 shipping. Would cost me over $100 for surrounds for the old Lancers.
