Big Hello from Central Illinois

I am a somewhat new member, as I lived the past 16 years in Salt Lake City, but have moved back to central Illinois. I am looking for audio fans in my area. I attended the DecWare Fest up in Peoria, and met a very nice couple from Springfield, Illinois, but I have lost their contact information. I know he is an Audiokarma member, and hope he reads this post. I also wrote to Steve Deckert, as my friends said it was not the first time they had attended. I spent the last 38 years teaching elementary school: Black Hills of South Dakota, Guatemala, Ecuador, Manhattan, and Utah. While in Utah, I met a fellow enthusiast, who was very adept at building both tube and solid state gear. Mark had a long electronics background in Chicago, and our common bond was both being from Utah, and a renewed interest in tubed gear. I hope to hear from local people to enjoy our pastime.

I am in Jacksonville, Illinois. About 30 miles west of Springfield, and about 77 miles NE of St. Louis. And if there any HiFi fans in my town, they must be well hidden. :0)
An old friend is visiting, and he chided me for not having my renovated Phase Linear amp up and running in the living room. I have not hooked it up, as I am still trying to figure a second shelf to have the DIY Pass Preamp and my turntable!!! He actually wanted my DIY Krell KSA-50 clone up and running, but I have deemed that open faced unit as an official cat killer! Lots of high voltage Class A power free to run...;0)

Thanks a lot, guys. I guess I will drive over to Springfield, soon, to ask at the last serious stereo shop, The Sundowner, if they know of anybody who does work on tube gear in town.
