I'm ashamed to say I once could have bought a pair of 601's at a garage sale for $75 but decided not to because I cant stand Bose. How shortsighted was I! Had I any idea I could have swung them for that 9600.....

Well next time you see a pair of 601's for 75 bucks, if they are Series II or III grab them! Those things go for stupid money on eBay. You could likely flip them for enough to buy a restored 9600 with change back in your pocket!
