Help others help you and let folks know how much you are willing to spend also seeing as your in Belgium what is the speaker market like there?

Also you didn't clarify if you're looking for new or used, that will also help with replies

And also what amplifier you are using, what type of music you listen to, the size of the room, etc.

Is it a hypothetical question about reproducing live sound, or are you really looking to buy speakers to get that sound? If the latter, a lot more information is needed.

Size of the room was stated as 35 square meters... That comes out to about 377 square feet...
 
Here is what he said in a previous post...

The room is 35 square meters. Listening position is a good triangle. Small drivers are useless. Horns is the only thing I have not tried. I am now using Yamaha NS 1000 tri amplified. Not bad, but not a big sound, bass light.

Thanks for correcting me and apologies to @EPB. Now that you've quoted the posts, I do remember reading them, but after bouncing around on different threads I forgot about them. Probably because there hasn't been much engagement by @EPB in response to the suggestions posted, except for a couple short answers to questions.

It's not clear to me how the Yamaha NS 1000's could be tri-amped since it looks like they have single binding posts. It would be helpful to know what amp(s) is driving them (especially if there has been surgery on the NS1000's to tri-amp them).

The NS 1000's are great on midrange and treble, but not strong on bass, so adding a sub would seem to be an obvious solution. He will likely need a sub regardless of whether he keeps the NS1000's or moves to something else, so my suggestion would be to add a sub (or borrow a sub if he can) as a first step to see if that addresses the issue in the current system.

Used would be best.
 
If you have heard Altec A2 ( a double A4 ) or A4 speakers with wings you really know what large speakers are. I preferred two stacked 817 boxes for the woofers rather than the larger a series woofer boxes. But that just me for very large venues. With equalization it was easy to reach 30 HZ. All you needed was 100 watts per channel as their sensitivity was close 110 db 4 feet 1 watt.page03.jpg518289506_10233939223274652_667896059678725439_n.jpg
 
If you really want to be surprised audition some Klipsch Jubilee speakers which can reach 18 HZ. They are also a two way system but with more advanced drivers than the Altecs from the late 50's and in some cases the late 40's.
