Big vintage JBLs and speaker height/stands

I own a pair of L112s and I think I'd like to raise them up off the floor. I've searched AK and found some threads but I really want this one to be dedicated to speaker height for the big, vintage JBL speakers (L112, L100, Control Monitor...) and respective stands.

These stands I know were sold for the L100 and could be used for L112s and others. I'm looking to raise them a bit more.
  1. So, for the big JBL owners (or past owners) who raise(d) their speakers, how high do you like them?
  2. What type of stand do you use? Did they minimize resonance and improve the sound?

Conventional wisdom says use stands that put the tweeters about ear height when you're in the seated listening position. Dunno if conventional wisdom applies to these particular speakers through.

Yup, I was wondering if that wisdom applies to these big vintage JBLs. After a rough measure, ear height would be about 24-28 inches for me.

Those are nice, they raise the speakers and 'get out of the way' visually. WAF factor is an issue for me:) I do wonder about resonance through what looks to be a hollow metal frame.

I have my L65s on some factory stands made for ADS L810s. Don't know if they're optimal, but they look nice and get them off the floor. Seems to help with the bass issues i've had in the past with these speakers. They're very similar looking to the ones that borus linked.
 
I have my JBL L65s on Target shot filled stands 17 inches off the floor. They improved the sound quite a bit. Gone is "playing to*the knees" and the bass is more defined without the floor boundary. The 077 tweeters are about ear height when I'm seated in my recliner.
