Big Watts for Class D Lovers

I don not own any Lepai stuff but it looks like they have really stepped up their game. the quality of their stuff continues to improve and they are cheap. though this one is not really cheap.

I'm betting all this shares with the previous Lepai amps is the name on the front panel. Construction quality looks to be in the Topping neighborhood. If QC is good, this one could be a winner. I could use one in the kitchen.

I don't think PE does themselves any favors quoting these inflated (10% THD) specs on their Class D amps. You've got to love claims of 200w continuous output from power supply rated at 162w.

I'd love to see what this amp would be rated given the old-fashioned "watts RMS into 8 ohms, both channels driven 20 Hz [or 30 Hz or whatever]" with a more reasonable THD spec under 1%. I'm guessing it'd still wind up being 25+ honest watts per channel, which is big power for a compact Class D amp.

The chip datasheet is right there on the right side. Looks like it should be able to do a solid 50-80W or so into 8Ω.
