One more thing...the amp is rigged Ultra-Linear...follow the final's g2 connection to taps on the primary. That's part of why they terminated the driver stage in cathode followers. The other bit is so it can deliver grid current at full power.
Pentodes have very high input impedances since all but a little bit of the capacitance is hidden from the input by the screen. When g2 has signal on it( as in U-L or Triode ), the drive requirements go *WAY* up.
Do away with the input triode stage, feed right to the g1 of the input pentode, and restore the PS capacitors and see where that leaves you.
On the plus side, an output TX good enough to be included in a 4-stage NFB loop is a good one indeed( not counting the input triode, it is out of the FB loop ). Those amps should really rock. May have to get one myself...or at least its output TX so it can be reproduced.
