Ritchie Blackmore continues to plough the medieval music furrow with this latest release from Blackmore's Night. The songs are OK, the playing very competent - including some very nice acoustic guitar from Ritchie, and Candice's voice is very good.

Whilst there are other songs where he gets the electric guitar out its probably only on the two stand out songs, Temple of the King, an old Rainbow song, and Carry on Jon, a tribute to Jon Lord, that you realise what Blackmore is still capable of.

Overall the album is probably three stars, with the two afore mentioned songs worthy of four or perhaps five stars

I've heard some of his past mid-evil flavored music. He and Candice do a great job at the style. It is unique also.

However, I would like to hear other types of music from him. He has a lot of talent to limit to one narrow genre IMHO.
