Blown jbl g400 tweeters

I own a pair of JBL G400 speakers and believe both tweeters are shot. JBL s website say they no longer sell replacement ones. Is there a replacement tweeter i can buy that would work with the JBL? Also i noticed one of speakers were not working at all and so i removed the woofer and moved the circuit board and it started working. I wedged a folded piece piece of cardboard behind the board and it is still working, any ideas would be appreciated. I imagine the pc might have a break in it or loose connection. I did learn there tweeters on this model have had a history of blowing from reviews i read.

I'm definately NO EXPERT on this subject, but I am going through the same thing with my speakers, except I'm replacing woofers. I am climbing the learning curve on driver replacement and so far here's what I have learned.

1. You need to select a driver that has the same sensitivity rating (SPL) as the old one within +/- 3db or there will be a loudness missmatch.

2. Woofers (not your situation, I believe) need to be matched to the cabinet volume as much as possible.

3. The speakers operating frequency range should be close to the original.

thanks for the link Rodge, later tonight after work i will check it out better. One of my old bosses told me "nothing is ever easy" Sometimes i still think i haven't grasped that thought enough. My JBLs i picked up from my present boss for 75 bucks and just hooked up a sansui 9090 to them. Even without the tweeters i am still haven fun. It only gets better from here. What brand of speakers you have?
