Blue ESR Meter

Got this kit and put it together. Before I bought it, I was reading about guys assembling the kit in 1.5 hours. They're lying. I probably spent about three hours assembling it but at least it worked when I hooked up the battery.

I did a little AK searching and it seems like several of the members have one.

If nothing else, it's turned out to be handy for determining that caps aren't the issue on a couple of my current projects.

When I built mine in 2011, it took me just over 1 hour to complete.

Great kit for first timers.

I thought it might be a good idea to install some IC sockets. I thought as held the board up to a strong light it would make a cool photo. IMO it did. As for me I don't know how long I took to build it as I love to putz as I'm putting something together. The main thing is just building it right and enjoying the build as I did very much.

I had a lot of caps to install in my CDP which is why I bought the Blue, some very nice sounding Muse that I had for a few years. All of which were fine. But I did find a supply cap that was used for supplying my DAC's that had an ESR reading 50 times higher then what it should of been, so the price of the Blue was well worth it instead of paying for a shop to find it. Let alone any damage that it could of caused it would let go.

I built and used a Blue meter for several years before upgrading to a Peak Atlas ESR70. The Blue is a good basic ESR meter.

I have a blue that I built, and a dedicated uf meter, and a TO6, so I'm pretty well covered. The blue is a good choice Murray, you will like it, it is deadly accurate.
