Bluesound Node and Apple Music Hi-Res

I see that the new Node is now shipping. In the list of supported sources, I do not see Apple Music (Hi-Res). Does anyone know if the Apple Music Hi-Res will actually work in the Node? I do see the Node supports Apple AirPlay 2, so I am confused (not an unusual occurrence). I'm currently using an Apple Airport Express into a Schiit Bifrost 2 via optical cable. The Node's DAC specs better than the Bifrost 2, but at 74 years young, I doubt I could hear a difference. Anyone know more about this? Thanks in advance.

Apple airplay to node and use device to control things, apple wants control of everything.
In the case of Amazon its a less than ideal interface for the same reasons.

Your old ears certainly have a nice system. I wish I could help but I don’t know the answer to your question. I can say that I am really impressed with the Node…that said at 61 yrs on July 4, my ears are young whippersnappers comparatively.

Airplay 2 is currently regular lossless only (there is some debate on whether the Apple Music app has been turned on for Airplay 2 to take advantage of even regular lossless yet). If you can hear a difference between lossless and hi res, you may want to hold off to see if they update Airplay or devices to handle it. If it is important to get hi res now, you may want to use another service for the time being. Hard to know exactly when Apple will come up with the right solution. Of course, you can get it through a DACs direct connection to the iOS device, but that isn't ideal for a lot of implementations.
