Probably a dumb question, but I haven't bought a "new" receiver in something like 40 plus years, and the technology has changed a bit. My wife wants to listen to music through wireless headphones. What I can't find an answer for online, is do these new stereo receivers with Bluetooth transmit to Bluetooth headphones? The closest I have come is some AI generated "it may have a transmit function in the settings." She won't be streaming music from anything, and I want to keep it as simple as possible so I'm not being constantly asked to "fix" it. I see some Bluetooth transmitters advertised, but that would be one more complication. Thanks in advance.

She could just use your PC or her phone. That’s what I use with my wireless headphones when I wanted to do that. By the way, if she’s not streaming music, what’s her source?

No, they RECEIVE Bluetooth.
 
Lots of receivers out there wherein you can connect to BT headphones.

Keep in mind both comfort and the ability to listen to detailed data which is now in the range of 5.0+ using upscale headphones.

Thanks for the info. My wife is a bit "tech challenged," and would never want to even try to stream music from her phone or laptop. She just wants to listen to music from the receiver via a Sirius receiver, the CD, or maybe a turntable. The Yamaha MusicCast seems to be exactly what I want. A bit expensive, but for peace in the home, probably worth it. Thanks again!

Not sure what you consider expensive but it mentions sending BT TO headphones in the description. I'm certain there are other options, read through the product descriptions of other receivers. Crutchfield is a great resource for information.

reccomennd to just use the her phone, amazon or whatever spotify etc, you can then pick and go to remote wireless speakers or ear buds, sometimes if I just want small sound I even transmit to my ecobee thermostat... lol

Sure you couldbuy a new receiver just so she can listen to wireless earbuds, but sounds a bit over the top $$$ for the actual application you want to achieve.
 
My Denon AVR-S960H streams to bluetooth. I'm sure they have other models that do also. It will not pair with both headphones and cell phone at the same time though.
 
From Yamaha website:

all MusicCast enabled products offer a Bluetooth Transmission feature for streaming audio content from your home audio equipment

On the MusicCast app, open the sound settings in the bottom right corner, scroll down to bluetooth transmission, turn it on, then select the device you want to transmit to..

The R-N303 mentioned above is not an AVR..
It is Musicast enabled along with the stereo models above it, and the wx series, and a turntable..
 


Some devices such as a phone or laptop have the capability to transmit bluetooth. You check settings to see if there is bluetooth icon to turn it on.

Your CD player for instance probably does not have a bluetooth transmitter. See the transmitter on Amazon. It can send and receive. You could plug one of these into your CD player (or other devices) and transmit bluetooth and pair up with headphones.

A number of companies make Multi Directional BT receivers/transmitters, xDuoo is one of the best for a low buck option.
