Bluetooth speaker build

Oops the why not wye is for mixing the input into a stereo amp not the output, sorry about that, I didn't mean to confuse.

If I did get one of those apps and sent a mono signal to the amp I could connect the speaker to either channel and it would play both channels through equally?

Also sorry to be a pain but I didn't really get your comment about the batteries and how much would be enough for 4 or 5 hours play time, can you explain? (maybe simpler) :)
 
Fun project here, congratulations! I can't speak for Android devices, but my little ipod touch has a mono switch buried deeply in the main settings. I use it frequently because I'm doing similar things over here, no Bluetooth though.

No, you need at least 12V for this to work (actually I've found different specs saying from 8V to 14V minimum). 3 D cells will only give you 4.5 volts. Minimum of 10 rechargeables or 8 alkaline (if you think you're going to use both types, go for the 10 cell setup, the amp can operate on more than 12V, but 12V is a minimum). With good rechargeable AAs you should get at least 4-5 hours of playing time. Using more cells will give you a longer playing time, but don't exceed 24V.

I'm using 12 rechargeable batteries in two 6 cell battery holders in series. 1. 2v per cell gives me like 14.4v which will be sufficient correct?
