BMS on Altec 811b horn

I read the thread from a while back where the BMS 4552 seemed to be the driver of choice for the Altec 811b horn, producing a more modern sound. But the BMS 4552 is out of production now. I am building a three way system, tri-amped, with the 811b as my HF component crossed at approx 6kHz. Is the BMS 4550 a suitable substitute? Are there other better suited drivers? Don't really have the budget for GPA or rebuilt Altec drivers.

I ran them for about six months in my 19's and ended up going back to 802-8G's.. Can't really say why, they did have an extended high end... but really couldn't tame them down to my liking.

Tell me about your 806's. I'm not up on all the Altec drivers.

BMS now makes a 4550, anyone try that one?
