I searched but didn't find any thread on this.

RIP Bob... you were a comedy great who made me laugh till I cried many times!

He was 92 years old and died of throat cancer. Confirmed by his son Chris.

Any other fans of Get a Life which featured both Bob and Chris? The plot is that Chris is a 20 something paperboy who lives with his parents. Bob played his father in the series. Most of his friends are fellow paperboys (age 10-12). In the opening credits he says to some of his paperboy friends "You know, strangers have the BEST candy!" Comedy genius!!

Ray Goulding died on March 24, 1990. Elliott continued to perform, most notably with his son (actor/comedian Chris Elliott) on the TV sitcom Get a Life, on episodes of Newhart, LateLine and Late Night with David Letterman, in the films Cabin Boy (also with son Chris) and Quick Change, and on radio for the first season of Garrison Keillor's American Radio Company of the Air. His granddaughter Abby Elliott joined the cast of Saturday Night Live for the 2009-2010 season, the third generation to appear on the show.

Big fan. I have all of the seasons of Get a Life as well as a few Bob & Ray albums. He was also funny in one of the worst movies ever made, "Cabin Boy", starring Chris. I feel compelled to watch when I come across it.

Been a long time but I remember the Bob & Ray skit, if Mr. America was judged like Miss America...."So what are your vital statistics?......."7 1/4, 15 1/2, 32".......
