Hi everyone!

What do you tube gurus think of this little critter? Any mod possibilities, other than making a power amp only option? What is life after a recap like? Meaning, is the iron any good? I think it should be, but please correct me if I am wrong...

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated :)

Yes I know that it is mono. Might have to look around for another one for stereo. Looks interesting for a first tube venture....how rare is this model?

That OPT looks comfortably over-engineered for a pair of EL84s, but it doesn't have screen taps for ultralinear operation. The power amp circuit is interesting -- it has variable damping factor and even a damping indicator lamp! Anybody know how that works?

It's push-pull, for sure. And it must be class AB, but with 50mA of cathode current per tube, it's not going to spend much time operating outside the class A region. The output tubes probably run rather hot.

I'm going to bring this thread back from the dead, as I am now in possession of this little amp. Seems very well built, I'll cook it on the variac tomorrow and see what happens.

Anyone got any new info? Only seen 1-2 of these things around the web.
