Bogen RR-501

Hello all,

I've come upon a 1956 Bogen RR-501 mono receiver in decent shape and was thinking of giving it a little restoration but I cannot find schematics anywhere. The Radio Museum lists one, but it turns out to be for the RR-501-B, which is a bit different. Nothing at Hifi Engine or in Sam's Photofact either. Can anyone point me to one, or, if anyone has worked inside one could you share your experience? Thanks!

If you can solder, just replace all the tubular capacitors you see underneath. Voltage and MFD specs are written on them.

Schematically, I'd expect the 501 and 501B to be close since they use the same tubes. Chassis layout is a bit different though.

Bogen RR-500 (Sams 243-3) is also similar, with slight difference in tube and I.F. layout. Power and output transformers are in the same location and orientation as the pictured RR-501 though. Schematic looks very close to RR-501B (Sams 339-3). I have a Bogen RR-501 in storage, but not sure if it is the “B” version or not.
