So, I am testing out a few bookshelf speakers hoping to narrow down my selection. I have a pair of Wharfedale Pacific Evolution 10, cambridge Audio aero 2s, Canton ct 220, and monitor audio bx2s.
I am not asking opinions on which pair is better. I will obviously need to decide that for myself. My question is, since these speakers vary quite a bit in age, the MAs and Cambridge Audios are brand new, is this a fair test? Do I need to wait until speakers are broken in to be able to compare models?
Btw, so far the Cantons are winning, closely followed by the Monitor Audios and Wharfedales, with the Cambridge Audios a distant 4th. This initial result is the reason for my question. The Cambridge Audios are unused and receive such great reviews, I am a little surprised at their performance in my test. Any thoughts?
