Bose 301-2

Picked up some Bose 301-2 at S/A cheap. Rough cabinets but all speakers work. Good foam. These sound pretty good. Compared to
my Boston Acoustics hd8's. the 301's might win. My question is are these worth new caps or just leave them alone ? Next is finding one
EPI tweeter for a pair of 100's I have refoamed and do a 3way shoot out.

I love my 301's if you get them in the right spot.They'll take a lot of power too. My cabs are trashed but I've actually seen them bounce around without blowing up. Good party speakers.

Been a long time, but I think they only have one cap in each crossover. It'll be cheap.

Great little speakers! I picked mine up off a CL listing for 50 bucks, mint from original little old lady owner. The grills had never been removed!

I'm sure a re-cap can't hurt.

If I recall correctly, the series two is woofer run full range, and a cap and light bulb(resistor) to roll the lows out of the tweeter, that's all.

It's been more then a few years however since Iooked into one.
