Bose 401's

I was wondering what the community thought about 401's for $100.
I'm not expecting a whole lot but I need something decent until I can get to refurbishing my favs.
I have not owned any Bose product in my 59 years on this planet
Always thought they were overpriced, but I'm just a cheap bastard anyway

I had a buddy who used to use his 401's for outside parties . They took a lot of abuse . Sounded OK .

I read that somewhere too that can handle quite a bit of power without distorting or meltdown,

Let's hear it for cheap bastards! Check the foam surrounds, consider a cheap recap of the crossover, and you're good. If the surrounds are visibly bad, it's a visible negotiating point.

I’d try those for $100 if I were in the market

I owned a pair but they start to show their limits pretty quickly if cranked up but sound ok at lower volumes, these cant handle much power like the 901's

I had a pair and thought they sounded pretty good for what they were. Nothing special drivers mounted in Bose fashion.

$100 seems fair, but on the high end.

Well I appreciate all the input and when I finally got a response from the seller they were sold
