Bose 901's - 10 of 'em

There is a pair in Columbus a guy has been trying to sell at $500 for a while now and they are refinished. 10 at $800 seems profitable.

$800 for the set of ten is certainly cheap, but a lot of work involved, and then the expense of tracking down the correct Bose EQ's for each pair. My other concern with that number of them being available as a "lot" is whether they were pulled from a bar/club--I have seen them used a lot hanging from ceilings and abused by DJ's back in the day.

It looks like a good deal, but honestly, I wouldn't bother at $800. That's $160/set, which is good, but not amazing, and with the work they need, it just seems like a lot of hassle.

And, if they were in a commercial installation, probably played for years with bad foam. Then again, you could sacrifice a pair and have plenty of replacement drivers for any that didn't survive.

Ah, yes. The Bose bashers appear.

Touchy aren't we.......

I was in no way bashing Bose 901's, which I happen to like, a lot. Just stating a very true fact (9 drivers per speaker, all of which will probably need new foam, not that they don't deserve it), and joking at the same time, as I suspect most of the others were also. Sorry you didn't get it.

I acquired 2 pair of series III, all of which had bad foam. 36 drivers. :sigh: They are worth doing. You could keep a pair or two and maybe let some go. Make your investment back. You'll be a re-foaming pro. That's for sure.

I wasn't responding to your comment.

And I certainly understand the issue with refoaming that many 901s. I have a pair of 901 IVs that I've already done, and four pairs of 901 IIIs in the basement that need it.
