Ah, I didn't look at all the pics, I stand corrected.

I'm no Bose expert but damn!! Which white van did this guy buy these speakers from?? Dude got ripped off. Sloppy cabinet work on these. (In the photo in the post above mine, note how the angles on the wood end cap do not match the angles of the rear baffle.) No way they would leave a Bose factory looking this tacky (even without the age and the faded grille cloth), even if they were prototypes. The two speakers on the "front" are in the wrong place also, with the front baffle curvature all wrong (it's not flat). And where are the ports on the back, that every 901 has?
At best, someone gutted two pairs of 901s for the drivers and threw them into these poorly built cabinets. At worst, generic 4" drivers from wherever.
Dude needs to correct the ad--"Less than two pair ever built."
The few owners I've heard of with double 901s just stacked 'em, like stacking Advents back in the day.![]()

You should probably study up on 901's a bit before you post details about them.View attachment 1272029

Wow...incredible. That just looks like a sloppy design to me. (Clashes with my occasional OCD tendencies.) But hey, WTFDIK? :shrug:Actually the original 901's had the same off angle top and bottom plates, no port tubes, and off center front drivers on a flat baffle.
Probably, although I have little interest in Bose, and these original models were well before I was able to shop for speakers anyway. Any 901 I've ever seen in person were later models with the ports and curved front baffles. First time I've ever seen older models was in this thread. No biggie. You should probably study up on 901's a bit before you post details about them.
