Bose equalizer worse than amp?

Hello everyone,

I recently repaired my Sony amp F606ES that works with my serie IV bose equalizer and my Bose 901 IV. The problem now is that when I'm using the equalizer the sound is now worse than it is when I'm using it with only the amplifier? Is it normal? Or is there a problem with the equalizer ?

Presumably you disconnected the eq when you worked on the amp, so ensuring the eq is connected properly is first and foremost.

And, if the eq is in tape mon loop that you have the switches in the right position.

If it's not one of those things then odds are it's something with the amp because it reads like you did not work on the eq. And if the eq worked before and you didn't mess with it (other than disconnecting) it's probably not that.

The EQ is essentially setting the bass and treble controls at about twice the normal max value for most gear that has them. The 901s sound flat without that since they are 9-4" drivers that do midrange easily and highs and lows when forced by the EQ.

What kind of sonic issues are you experiencing.
