BOSE on QVC

I never miss the infamous QVC/HSN when they have some cheap made in china guitar theyre selling. of course in true QVC/HSN fashion its hyped to death.a good one is the randy jackson guitar package, though why is a bass player promoting guitars I dont know.the second is bose, yes bose is back with the latest on their cheap table top clock radio cd player for only $500.They have added a new color-espesso, looks like a very a dark brown,the rep from the company claims the famous wave system took 14 years to develop, but isnt it just a transmission line from the 1930's??? the port length is 26" I dont know if its tuned to 1/2 or 1/4 the wavelength of the resonance of the woofer??that puts the res freq at either 265hz or 132hz , either way its not much bass.another clever bose innovation in that fact that they connect the antenna to the power cord so the cord acts as an antenna, wow what will the geniuses at bose think of next???(radios have been doing it for generations.)And then there are the callers, many sound like actors ,they are overly enthusiastic, one lady bragged she had 5 bose systems in her house.I was always curious if they have ever been pranked??getting back to the company,they always brag about the innovation but how innovative to do have to be to come up with the bose wave radio, I always picture they whole research team as just two guys in the back playing cards all day.

People buy their stuff so it's successful marketing. Just goes to show you that sound quality =/= price. They do make some decent-sounding stuff for what it is, but not at the prices they charge.
 
It's nice that you've found something that entertains you so much. I haven't seen a QVC program about the new new Bose Wave music system IV, but I have two of the earlier Bose Wave music systems, having purchased one in 2008 and a second, with soundlink adapter, in 2011. In my current living situation, one is packed away, but the other continues to give me hours of information and entertainment every day.
 
I'm on my third wave radio since like 95 and for what it is, it works great. Wakes me up every morning, plays background music when I need it, and looks kinda cool.

A bit of a surprise today to see a notification for a "like" on a 6 1/2 year old post, but I appreciate it and am happy to report that while I gave the 2008 model to a friend last year, both it and my 2011 Bose Wave music system are still going strong. Mine continues to see daily use, now residing in a bedroom with a turntable hooked up to it.
 
A lady I was doing work for several years ago had one. For what it was it sounded pretty good.
Probably over priced but that's just my opinion.
As mentioned Bose had a really good advertising department. People that don't know diddly squat about stereos know about Bose and that "they are the best".
