Bose wave audio System repair

Hello, first post from me.
I hope I am in the correct area, sorry if not.
I am trying to repair a Bose Wave Audio system for an elderly neighbour. It was bought new in 2010.
There is no model number just the above title on the operating Manual. I have the serial number if it is useful to any one.
It is a Fm / AM tuner Cd player and amplifier in the Bose concave front case, with remote control.
It powers up, all displays ok, remote works, but no sound.
Power supply is missing on 4052 mux chips on main PCB.
I am a retired (just) electronics engineer, so I think I could fix, but I am struggling without a schematic.
I have scoured the net with no luck, similar but power supplies differ. The main PCB is numbered 291619-001
Bose are not prepared to send any technical info.
Would anyone have a schematic please or know where I can get one, I will pay costs if required.

Looks like you are going to have to try and reverse Eng the design, a royal PITA, wish I could help, but I have never seen one. if it is a SMPS, even tougher, but if one supply is out, try tracing it back to the source, hopefully it is a linear regulator IC.
 
I'm in the same boat. The remote receiving IR sensor in mine has gone bad, and I'm at a loss as to how to figure out the correct replacement without a schematic. Apparently, Bose kept/keeps a tight hold on any service info. I hope you're successful.
 
Bose does not allow any technical info on their products to be available to the public. They will offer you a generous trade in allowance if you buy a new one though. :deal:

An old post but thought I would provide an update that may help others as this might be a common issue with these Bose units. I received a Bose Wave Music System for repair recently, issue was no sound. Its manufacture date was 2011. I confirmed the issue, it was dead quiet on AM/FM, CD, and AUX. Also nothing coming through with headphones plugged in (I've read that a faulty headphone jack can also cause issues). I noticed a small area with some carbonized traces on the PCB located next to the backup super capacitor. Ironically I found a video on a channel called Rays Repairs Ottawa showing a Bose unit with the exact same problem (I'm also Ray from Ottawa, but this isn't my YouTube channel). The PCB trace to the 1K resistor shown in the photo drives the enable pin of the ST TDA7376B amp chip. I soldered a jumper from the resistor down to the via/test pad below it and bingo. This trace also connects to the middle pin on the right side of the 6-pin SOT packaged device located next to this resistor.

Hey @Ray66 I'm chasing down the same issue. After initially follow the most common advice of recapping the six common culprits as claimed on the internet on the other board, I'm still not getting any sound from any input. I checked out the other Ray from Ottawa's video and my continuity seems good. There was some minor carbon build up in that area, but nothing like in his video. Any other ideas to get my sound back? Is the canal open yet? We come up to Ottawa from PA to skate on the canal :)

I think I got lucky in tracing down the enable pin issue. The only troubleshooting I did prior to finding the problem was to do a system reset (apparently it can be in a snooze mode that mutes the output), and confirm power was getting to the STMicro power amp modules. Sorry I can't provide any other ideas.

We were out for a skate on Sunday and happy to report the canal is in great condition. They opened the full length yesterday but rain is predicted later this week so that'll be a setback. Typical for Ottawa, but rest assured the cold temperature will be back soon enough.

Cold has never been a problem for us in Ottawa :) We usually visit in February and it's plenty cold!
