Boston Acoustic A150 series 1 replacement midrange

hi all,

I recently picked up a pair of BA A150s series 1 in real oak. They are phenomenal, but one of them has a dead midrange.

I tested the mid in the other, correctly working speaker and it's still dead, so it's not the xover.

I see a lot of replacement mids on eBay for $25 that look physically identical, but have a different model number. Mine is "311TNG" and all the eBay replacements are something different.

Is this the same driver with a different model number? Would I even notice the difference?

I would be skeptical to say the least about the alleged eBay "replacement" drivers with different part numbers. They may look the same in pictures but what about the power rating and freq. response? I think the chances they are not exact drivers for your particular speaker model are high. I recently looked at eBay for exact a replacement midrange driver for my CV E-315, only to find fraudulently listed drivers from another model in the series (with lower power rating and with different part number compared to my broken one) but the eBay ad claimed it also for my speakers as well! Yeah right. Needless to say I steered clear of it. Buyers beware.
