Boston Acoustics A150 Score

Also, has any felt the need to damp the cabinets (not add more polyfill, but adhere something to the rear and side cabinet walls to make them less resonate)? I kinda feel that that needs to be done before I call my project complete.

Nope, leave them as is. They're stuffed with a (relatively) exact amount of polyfill which should take care of any resonance issues.

I've pondered the same question about doing some damping on my A150 cabs. I can feel the cabinet vibrating on the back behind the woofer when playing at even fairly low volume. Does this indicate that some damping may be beneficial?

Anyone?

Is it me, or do these Dayton caps need a lot of hours to break in? I've been running them hard with the IsoTek System Enhancement CD, and things seem to keep changing. Some things you can tell by listening to familiar music, other things by simply listening to them reproduce a glide tone. I ran them most of the day, and tonight the system is sounding pretty good.

The speakers are very enjoyable. I'm spinnin' some remastered Dead Can Dance through them at this very moment.

They already are braced front to back

Roger that. Starts an inch or two above the woofer and goes to the top with a cutout in the brace to accommodate the mid and tweeter. Y'all got me to thinking, though, I may try some front to rear bracing on 45 deg radials from the upper half of the woofer opening.

Found myself near a HobbyLobby the other day and picked up some non-hardening modeler's clay. I'll be trying some of it on the outside, rear of the cabinet to see what, if any, difference some additional damping makes.

In the interest of transparency (I'm not a politician or BP CEO) I've replaced the polyfill (approx. 16 oz.) with fiberglass ( approx 12 oz.). This change did not seem to affect the amount of vibration I could detect on the cabinet behind the woofer, however.
