This will pretty much undoubtedly wind up in the Dollars and Sense subforum, promptly. That's the place for valuation questions. See the AK Forum Rules here: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=301366

That said- a pair of VR40s Lynnfields in good shape, could be worth in the neighborhood of $300-400 or so. Maybe more or less, depending on condition. They were originally $1400 a pair!

VR12, at least $150. Maybe more. People really like that center channel!

VRS Pros... maybe $80-100 a pair or so.

BTW: The VR500 subwoofer (if that's what it is) didn't suck. A nice sounding sub. Probably worth in the neighborhood of $100-120 or so, plus or minus for condition.

BTW: I worked at a Boston dealer, just as these were being wound down out of production. Very good stuff.

Regards,
Gordon.

Thanks for the reply. That gives me something to go off of.

My apologies for not posting in the propper area: "All questions of value and links to auctions or ads belong in the Dollars and Sense forum."

I've seen people asking around $300 for the VR40s + or - $100, about $200 for the center channel. In fact there is a VR12 locally asking for $250 as we speak.

I have the VR40s (retailed at $1400 on sale at $1100) and a VR12. Excellent. Great for movies and music. I did n' t get the VR500 because there are better subs and was thinking about an M&K, but not bad.

Thanks so much for your response. Definitely helpful. I may have to pull the trigger and replace my Infinity Studio Monitors.

Thanks for the responses. Although bad timing, I can't resist the price. I'm picking the package up tonight! I can't wait to give them a listen.

$400.00 :D

Good score! I picked up my

all for $100. I'm very impressed with how they sound :music:
Just wish they fit next to my Fortes :sigh:
I think you'll really enjoy your new score.

Wow! :thmbsp:
You will be astounded by how good the VR40s sound with music. Even without the sub.

I think so.. I've used my Infinity's (SM Series) since the early nineties. Im excited to relocate them and make room for these BA's!

Let me ask you, what's your thoughts on the VR500?

They're worth it as part of a great deal.
It's a score. You're getting the sub free as far as I'm concerned.

I only said they're not bad because I was comparing the VR500 to an M&K sub that had tighter bass in the show room.

Get them home and you'll love them.

These VR40's bear alot of resemblance to my VR3's (which are a newer model). Aside from the inverted mid/tweeter arrangement are they all that different?
