Seller is living in Manhatten, just moved to a smaller 6th floor apartment there. on 1st street or ave, and says that's why he's selling his stuff- no room. Seems he really knows his gear. He rattled off all kinds of info on the ADS speakers, gave me info on my 570-2s (says the 570-2s were a huge improvement over the original 570s, being brighter and faster). Good for me!
An Israeli fella of origin, he came to America 20 years ago at age 20. He goes by the name of Ness, works as a chief mechanic. Says if you are an audio buff, he and his wife would like to have you over for a listen (no lie- he's enviting you all!). No need to buy his gear- he'd enjoy the company, and will enjoy showing off his ADS collection, which he says is huge, and this only represents a small collection of it. He's got bigger ADS and smaller ADS in his collection too. He claims he's ADS speakers' biggest fan, and has a massive collection, stacked to the ceiling, to prove it.
He prefers to run it all with Nakamichi, NAD, and Yamaha.
Prices aren't cheap, but they all come with boxes, paperwork, ect...
So, I miss out on the lovely polyamourous redheads, but to see a bunch od ADS stacked to the ceiling, well, it's almost a tradeoff worthwhile. Almost...
