Boston CL - Maggies, Allisons, Quads, AR-94s, B&W 803's

For what ever reason, Boston CL has always had a pretty decent selection of all kinds of audio, from vintage, current, as well as some high end stuff. Of course, it's not every day, but often enough that if you don't check it every day, you end up kicking yourself sooner or later for missing out on something really nice!

you have to remember that New England was a hot bed for audio from the days of mono. Scott, KLH, Advent, Bozak, Boston Acoustics, AR, Genesis, EPI and the list goes on all in NE and the add NY with BIC, Fisher, Marantz, and many more and where Tech Hi-Fi, Tweeter, AudioLab, Cramers and many more high profile audio retailers. Boston also had the largest Lafayette and Radio Shack stores at one time as well as 1 of only 2 AR showrooms.

Boston being a big college town might help as well. Lot's of rich college kids moving in and out, that had some nice gear, maybe? Whatever the reason, I'm glad the stuff still pops up fairly often!

Allison CD9 speakers, in good shape, are hard to find.

I own the CD8 speakers and think they are fantastic - a very well balanced speaker.

The CD9 was the top of the line for these mid-80's Allisons.

It's hard to determine if the asking price is fair because you seldom see them sold on Ebay or other places.

The $600 asking price may be high, but I don't think there is a better sounding speaker at that price.

Just an FYI, those are special speakers.

Well, if I had $600, I'd get them and write up a nice review!

I haven't seen a pair of those come up anywhere for some time....

If those Maggies are still available, they are worth every penny, if in good shape. With the right amp and room, they sound amazing.
