Bought a new AVR

Last week I replaced my old Denon AVR 3803 with a new Integra because I got sick of not having HDMI inputs. It became a hassle after adding AppleTV, and a great deal was offered on a NIB Integra DTR 50.2 with the matching DPS 6.7 audio disc player.

(BTW...the model numbers for Integra are hard to follow. Just sayin')

Realizing an AVR without HDMI switching is fairly worthless these days I put it in my bedroom with the matching DVD 2900 disc player. I'm stunned by what this can do in two-channel mode! It replaced a Marantz 2235b in this room and truthfully I prefer the Denon. Having a remote from the bed is such a huge plus I'll never go back to vintage again.

As far as the Integra goes, I like it for all the reasons that I upgraded for..(HDMI, Audyssey set-up) but a very slight edge goes to the Denon in sound quality. It's so close as to really not mention..so I guess I shouldn't have...but now I have a very nice bedroom system as a bonus.

make sure to check out ORemote in the iTunes store if you have an IOS device.
It provides a lot more function for the receiver than the system remote and is just fun.

Thanks. I already hooked up an Airport Express in the bedroom for the Denon and controlling it from my iPad. Pretty cool having my entire music collection at my bedside.

When you get the ORemote working with the receiver you can control all the Internet stations and a lot of system parameters that are not available on the remote,every customer of mine that has used this is in love with it and is easy to use and understand.

It is also nice as you don't need to have a monitor on to use the system easily.

I'm still learning what this Integra can do, thanks for the tip. AVRs have come a long way in 10 years!
