Bought some Minimus 7W.....Again

Picked up my first pair at Goodwill for about $12 without knowing anything about them, just liked the heft and build quality. Use them as speakers in my tiny bungalow kitchen (I don't have room for anything bigger), mostly to listen to the radio, more than adequate for this task. Got another pair at the same Goodwill for $15, which I use for testing new amps etc. Nice small speakers, recommended if you can get them for a good price. Plus they store nicely when not in use.

Geez, Eric, what's up with this compulsion?

I really don't know. If I see a pair and there in good shape with a nice price I just gotta buy them.

What I really want to get is a pair of the silver ones. They are not as abundent as the wood or black and white ones. I think they wood look sharp on my little silver integrateds.

OK, I have sent some of you guys the Speaker Builder Minimus Crossover mod article.

There is some confusion... the 3.5 mH coil... no way, Jose! Look at the photo on the first page of that article. That is NOT a 3.5 mH coil. Maybe .35 mH. Gotta be a misprint.

I think you'd be better off by going to this article:

Doing the tweeter mod, and using this xover instead. Use E6000 or Aleene's 7800 instead of the hot glue specified. I corresponded with Kuzimus about that and he agreed those would be better glues. Those glues also work great for gluing crossover parts.

Paul, you are the bees knees. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time in posting the links, and sending out the x-over mode article.

A kind jesture on your part. :thmbsp:

A collection of Minimus 7's mated with a decent subwoofer could make a very respectable Home Theater system on the cheap!

That is my current HT setup and I have no plans on changing :music:
