Hi all

I have the chance of a pair of Bowers & Wilkins B&W 683 speakers. Dont know much about them to be honest. My question is can I wire these up to a Technics Su Z2 or a Panasonic Su 2700 (my two systems). I am just using Technics sb 3130 and Panasonic sb 2800 at present. Is it worth investing? Thanks in advance

They were about $1,500. new. If you can get them at a reasonable price then go for them.

Not bad speakers, a friend of mine runs them as the mains on his 7.2 system. I enjoy listening to them.

Neither of your amps is really ideal for them, you really need a more modern amp that's more comfortable with a 4ohm load.

If you don't want high levels then you might get away with it.

You posted this in "AK New Format".
Since it has nothing to do with AK software, rather than just delete it,
I've moved this to the Speakers discussion forum

I would get them. As @Mart Mccall noted, they might not be the best combination with your Technics, but I think it would be a good start. Depending on the size of your room and the level at which you like to listen, you may find yourself looking for a larger amp afterwards.

ETA: B&W parts for older systems are difficult to find, and expensive if you do. Ensure that all the drivers are correct, and working properly before you purchase.

I went to the auction but didn't bid. I didn't realise how big they were. They went for $250. Thank you for your reply
