Pardon the add to thread here but i was not sure if I should start a new topic on my new 1969 302s. I bought them today at a local mid century shop and opened them up and to my suprise, the caps inside the metal box have been replaced but the one external one has not… should it be replaced? i believe these are the aluminum mids and tweets? My real question is why is there a hole in the back which appears to be wired to the crossover? What purpose does it serve? I have not seen that in any other photos here or on the internet? It seems like they were professionally rebuild and re-insulated because that does not look like the old Kilmut? Anything you can tell me about this would be helpful
