Bozak B-313

Super Member
Just a quick hit I hope. I have a chance slim now but to buy a pair of very nice Bozak B-313 speakers. Any thoughts on those speakers? Has anyone listened to or owned a pair any thoughts. I know there is a Bozak forum but thought I would like to hear from those who are more familar with several speakers as it seems to be on this forum. Thanks for your time.

The midrange will be very good, the top end will be stop to soon and the box is to small for the bass driver. Yet they will sound very good with a lot of music. You may like them.

I was told that they sound great on Jazz but lack with Rock. I do not do Rock but I listen to almost all blues. There are similarities with those last two musics with types of instruments etc but I have always felt that blues music overall is better produced just better small but solid recording studios but I am biased. Blues had a baby n they called it rock and roll that is the truth.
Thanks for the kick back.

The top end limit is 12 KHZ. There will be plenty of bottom but it will roll off a little early and you may find it a bit slow. The mid is the star of the show. Yes. It will play jazz well. The cymbals will sound almost complete but weak and the string bass will sound very good. All the drums will show but the kick will not be as defined as you might like. The snare and tom are all in. Horns will play really good.
It will do a little better on rock with the exception of the kick drum and bass guitar. The piano will be generally good, if a bit soft on the very bottom. It's just not a fast speaker. It will do very well with most of the organ.
Voices from that mid will be very good.
The sensitivity for tubes is adequate.

Thanks again good review if I might say. Very nice looking speaker the wood is clean, the front grill is excelent had the caps redone I think 8 years ago this owner may redo the caps again and it has those nice stands that came with it originally. I might pass on two pairs of speakers and have room for them and check them out. Hefty I bet what 50-60 LBS a pc.

Yes, the cabinet built is very good. The tweeters are to low and you will need the stands or tilt or something. The B-313 is as good as your going to do in a small Bozak.
It's laid back but commanding sound matches best with SS. It's generally used to tame a mid 70s Yamaha receiver. If your tube gear is good it will work well, and be as smooth as anything your likely to hear.
Don't over pay. The little Bozak market is soft.
It's a good speaker.

I guess it will be the type of speaker that it needs to be listened to with a few amps I have several tube amps and some Large SS type amps that said what is the ballpark on a pair of these speakers ?

$50 to $150? Any more and a person would really have to know what they were doing. Parts are common, and reasonable. Durable also.

Yes I have a pair of them solid speakers esp on a nice pr of stands they work out well. Kind of under the radar for some reason do not know why. Wonder What do people pay for those Bozak 4000s nowadays? They are a whole other world of speaker the 4000 series. Once again they better be in the neighborhood serious weight.

Because of the accurate reproduction many threads on AK detail the suitability of Bozaks for every type of music, and the changes necessary to improve the sound. The practical top end of the B-200Y tweeter is low, and we've extensively discussed using supertweeters and the bandpass needed to do that.

The B-313 trades size for bass response, so if you don't need ultra-low bass response or have small space, these are suitable. If you have more space, hold out for a pair of the B-302. I paid more than $100 my pair of B-313s because the veneer and grillcloth were in excellent condition. The breakup value of the drivers is at least $200. The midranges alone are $100 for the pair.
